About Me

I am a Postdoctoral research associate in non-adiabatic dynamics at University College London, supervised by Prof. Jochen Blumberger in the Blumberger Group. My PhD was in Physical Chemistry from the University of East Anglia supervised by Dr. Garth A. Jones in the Jones research group.
I graduated from UEA first in 2018, with a masters in Natural Sciences, majoring in Mathematics and Physical Chemistry having achieved a starred first (1*). In addition I was awarded the best in year ‘Distinguished Performance’ award. I passed my PhD viva at the same institution in Jan 2024.
I have broad interests in quantum Physics and applied Mathematics from quantum fluids and turbulence, to quantum information theory, Markovianity, and the Hierarchical Equations of Motion (HEOM).
I have previously worked as a PostDoc in Mathematics and Physics working on models of waves in ice floes in the marginal ice zone using the wind forced, dissipative, Dysthe equation, spinor Bose-Einstein condensates modelled with the Gross-Pitaevskii equation, and open quantum system dynamics modelled with the Hierarchical Equations of Motion. I am currently working on the CTMQC method for non-adiabatic dynamics.
My Work
PhD Research
These are the working notes for my PhD research and thesis. I use this as a way of cataloguing current ideas and progress. It contains conference posters, talks and some preliminary work for thesis chapters. A full list is found in the PhD Research section.
Papers
My recent publications include ‘Parameter-free Higher-Order Schrodinger Systems with Weak Dissipation and Forcing’ which was published in Proc. Roy. Soc. A, July 2025. A full list of my research output can be found in the ‘Publication List’ section. Additionally, the research produced by my previous research group – The Jones Group – can be found here. Research from my current research group – The Blumberger Group – can be found here.
Affiliations
University College London
I am currently working as a Postdoctoral research associate in the department of Physics and Astronomy. As a member of Prof. Jochen Blumberger’s Group I have been studying non-adiabatic dynamics and the CTMQC method.

The University of East Anglia
Here I completed my degree of Master of Natural Sciences. I achieved a starred first (1*) with majors in Mathematics and Physical Chemistry. In addition I was awarded the best in year ‘Distinguished Performance’ award. I am now studying for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy supervised by Dr Garth A. Jones. After this I completed two PostDocs, one in Mathematics and the other in Physics at UEA, working with Prof. Emilian Parau, Dr. Alberto Alberello, and Dr. Magnus Borgh.

Ipswich School
I studied at Ipswich school for my A-levels, and was a member of both the Prefects and Chapel Choir. Since leaving I have become part of the OI group.

Member of the American Physical Society
I am attending the 54th DAMOP conference in Spokane with a poster titled: ‘Hierarchical equations of motion model for phonon and photon correlations’.
Member of the Institute of Mathematics & its Applications
Member of the Institute of Physics.
